Nice to meet you! To those of you who are studying French but finding it a bit too formal and not much fun, as well as to those of you who have started learning French but feel anxious about whether you are actually improving—I have some great news for you. As a Japanese speaker who struggled to master French myself, I understand the concerns and questions you have about the language. I’ll explain them carefully in Japanese, occasionally mixing in little stories and jokes.
After graduating from a university in Japan, I moved to France, completed graduate school, and returned to Japan for a while, but fate brought me back to France, where I have now lived for over 20 years. During my time in France, I have worked on translation projects, been an office worker at a local company, and have accumulated real-life French language skills through my own experiences in French society. I want to put this practical experience to good use for all of you.
My lessons aren’t academic. Above all, I pursue enjoyment. That being said, my lessons are not just about fooling around—I will explain important points thoroughly and my teaching style is actually rather strict. lol
I offer two types of lessons: for beginners and for intermediate learners, but I’d mainly like to proceed by answering your questions. Since I have translation experience, you can also rely on me for advice when you want to convert French into more natural Japanese. Also, despite the impression I might be giving off (?), I have actually passed Level 1 of the Practical French Proficiency Test. I can also help with preparing for the French Proficiency Test and the Center Exams (explaining past questions and trends).
“If it’s not fun, you’re not learning the language” is my motto. I strive to create lessons that make you enjoy the French language even more and spark greater interest in the language. Looking forward to working with you!
