Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
 
The body and mind are connected and influence each other. If the body is tired, the mind loses energy, and if the mind is tired, the body may stop working.
 
Don't you think that in order to live a healthy life and make full use of the talents you have, you need an approach from both the body and the mind?
 
I want to provide such support.

【Areas of support】
★Mindfulness
Although the term 'mindfulness' has been introduced to Japan and the general public is nowadays engaged in meditation, I have been familiar with relaxation methods using breathing and body scans for over 25 years.
 
As for mindfulness, I attended a formal eight-week programme at the Tokyo Mindfulness Centre, which is a descendant of Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn, who developed MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) and instilled the basics of mindfulness in me.
 
Since then, I have continued tp practice on my own, in mindfulness classes, and in meditation groups (Christian Vipassana meditation) at Catholic monasteries.
 
★Psychological support
In my late 30s and 40s, I began to learn about the workings of the human mind through family illness and my own experiences of infertility. In the course of my psychological studies, I qualified as an industrial counsellor. I also encountered Acceptance and Commitment Theraphy (ACT) and am learning to develop psychological flexibility in myself. In particular, I have also started to provide party support to those who find it difficult to live without their children.
 
★How to use your Body and Mind
I teach gospel choirs and sing gospel myself in and around Tokyo.
I have experienced throat problems (such as nodules on her vocal cords) while singing, and learned how to use myself (body and thoughts) to protect my body and improve the quality of my performances, mainly through the Alexander Technique, LIVING IN A BODY, body mapping, and the Gospel Choir's "Gospel Choir". I learnt through the Franklin Method and other methods. I am currently training to become a qualified Alexander Technique teacher.
 
Qualifications and completion programmes:
・MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction): Completed 8-week programme of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
・Industrial counsellor
