What is DELE?

DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is the only certification accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. Outside of Spain the Instituto Cervantes administers the tests and continues to be the most trusted measure of Spanish language ability.

DELE started in 1988 to measure the language proficiency for non-native speakers of Spanish and is now administered in 100 countries across the world. It is a widely accepted certification used to guarantee Spanish language ability for both business and academic requirements.

The exams are divided into four area, listening, reading, writing and speaking.
