Gregory's Girl is a Scottish film from 1981! It is a romantic comedy, thoughtful and light hearted at the same time. It follows the fortunes of Gregory, who is an awkward teenager at high school. He falls in love with one girl who is sporty and good at football, but unattainable for him. However, by the end of the film, Gregory has a successful date with a completely different girl.
Gregory also has a good relationship with his sister, Madeline. She is younger than he is, but more worldly wise.
There are many scenes showing life in a new town and in a state high school, in 1981.
This film is loved by many Scottish people, and even if they have not watched it, then they will have heard about it. The film is realistic, quirky, wistful, and feelgood too.
