As a summer dessert, you can't beat fresh raspberries. These grow in the wild and people cultivate them in their gardens. There are also fruit farms which grow them.
When I was recently in Scotland, I was able to go out into the garden and pick a handful fresh for breakfast! This doesn't really count as dessert, but I don't think that matters!
The berries grow on tall thick stalks called raspberry canes, and they are a native fruit. They turn ripe in July, and it is tempting to go out and scoff some.
It is common to serve these as an easy summer pudding with cream or ice cream, although the raspberries taste good just by themselves. Other people pick raspberries and make them into jam and everybody in the family can help to pick them.

scoff - to eat quickly and greedily (informal)
It can also mean to jeer at something, to show you think it is ridiculous, but the meaning will always be clear from the context.
