マレーシアは一昨日、昨日と中華正月で祝日でした。大晦日の2月15日は、その伝統的なお祝いの祝賀の席にお呼ばれしてきました。

My husband and I were invited to a traditional celebration of Chinese New Year called Re Dinner, the New Year Eve dinner on 15th of February. 

お呼ばれしたお宅は、オランダ系のオーストラリア人のご主人に中国系シンガポール人の奥さんのご家庭。なので、少し中国系、シンガポール系、マレーシア系のお祝いが混ざった感じでしたね。

The husband of the family we were invited is Dutch Australian, and his wife is Chinese Singaporean. So the celebration was a bit of mixture of Chinese, Singapore and Malaysia. 

上は子豚の丸焼き、下は日本語ではハタと呼ばれる魚の蒸したものです。その他にも鮫ヒレのスープやアワビと野菜の炒め物など、高級食材を使った食事が次々と出ました。

The top photo is Suckling Pig, and the bottom one is steamed grouper. We had about 7 different course meal, including shark fin soup and abalone and vegetable stir fry. 

食事の締めくくりはお茶のセレモニーで終わりました。除夜の鐘はありませんでしたが、元旦の12時を過ぎると同時にあちこちで花火があがってきれいでした。

They showed us Chinese tea ceremonry after the dinner. We didn't hear the bell ringing on the eve but saw a lot of fireworks after 12 o'clock. It was beautiful!
