Q. Hi, Howard! According to your profile, you have an interesting background. First of all, please tell us about yourself.

A. I am a college student who has taken time off from school to find out what I wanted to do in my life. I was studying stem cell biology at Harvard but I suddenly grew interested in non-profit sector, social entrepreneurship, and computer science. I imagine I will get a career in one of those fields. I love basketball, swimming, ice skating, watching movies, dancing, learning Photoshop, and creating basic websites.

Q. I know that Harvard university is in Boston, Massachusetts. Do you recommend any places to visit around there?

A. Harvard University is in a city called Cambridge, near Boston. There are many attractions all around in both cities. Harvard University itself is a very popular tourist attraction. Each day, there are always tourists who fill the campus, guided by the school’s free tours. There are also fun opportunities like free wine tasting in wineries or the Boston-famous Duck Tour, in which tourists hop on an amphibious vehicle to tour the city both on road and on the Charles River.

Q. How do you spend your holiday? Do you have any hobbies?

A. I am an avid fan of basketball. I play hours after hours before my body gives out (usually after five hours). I also enjoy ice skating. I am just learning how to skate backward! I like watching movies as well. My favorite movies are Parent Trap (original), Forest Gump, Shutter Island, Good Will Hunting, I Am Legend, Wedding Crashers, Meet the Parents, and many more.

Q. Why did you start teaching English? Could you tell us about what made you want to be a tutor?

A. I’ve been teaching English since I was in high school. My dad is a teacher. Teaching is something that is really easy for me because I can explain everything logically and in a step-by-step process. I feel gratified when I see my students making progress.

Q. You have a various type of lessons such as for Eiken, Job interviews, learning culture in the U.S. and so on! Which lesson do you recommend first for a beginner?

A. It depends on what the student wants to achieve. Generally, and with a complete bias, I think all of my lessons are very good. Haha. I can also custom design lessons for those who want to study particular subjects, such as TOEFL or TOEIC, in particular ways.

Q. Could you please give a message to our students!

A. Good luck, and have fun!
