Before
I will ask the student to prepare an excursion day with several places to visit. This could be in any country they wish or in the country they intend to visit. They should only decide on the places to visit without looking up for transport. I will also send them the key phrases so they can get familiar with it and practice pronouncing them. They will also look up any words they are unsure of.
During (5 minutes)
After salutation and quick pleasantry, we will go through the key phrases, and I will verify if the student pronounces them correctly. I will also use this time to go through anything they are not sure of concerning the phrases.
Role play (10 minutes)
The role play will be as follows: I am an excursion agent that arranges transport for tourists. The student will assume the role of a tourist who needs help to arrange their day trip. The student will use the key phrases to ask questions about the various transport available for the trip they have initially prepared.
Listening activity (8 minutes)
I will create 7 to 8 listening tracks concerning travel and getting around. The student will listen to them one by one. After each one, I will ask questions to practice their understanding and improve their listening skill.
Wrap up (7 minutes)
I will run through the lesson and notes that have been taken to ensure everything has been understood and that the TL has been grasped. I will use this time to highlight any errors they may have made and praise them.
After The student will have to write a short dialogue of 100 to 150 words between a tourist and travel agent trying to arrange a day trip across two different towns with various sites to visit. They will have to complete the task using the key phrases used in the lesson. This will consolidate everything that has been taught and practiced in the lesson.
