English conditionals are used to talk about situations and their possible or imaginary results. The Zero Conditional is used for general truths, facts, and things that always happen when a certain condition is met. For example, “If you heat water to 100°C, it boils.” The First Conditional is used for real or possible situations in the future: “If I study hard, I will pass the exam.” The Second Conditional describes unlikely, imaginary, or hypothetical situations in the present or future: “If I had more free time
, I would learn another language.” Finally, the Third Conditionalis used to talk about imaginary situations in the past—things that did not happen and their possible results: “

” In short, we can remember them as: Zero = facts and general truths, First = real future possibilities, Second = imaginary or unlikely situations, and Third = imaginary past situations and regrets.
