This is a vocabulary lesson about money.
Warmer: Lesson will begin with scrambled word exercise. Five words related to money. They will be scrambled up. Student will need to unscrambled them. This exercise will take 2-3 mins.
Vocabulary: I will start off this part of the lesson by giving the student more words associated with cash michines. Once this is completed, I will get the student to answer ten questions about cash machines. When the student has finished this, I will get the student to come up with more words associated with money. This will last 10 mins.
Listening: I will play a recording that has two news stories. The students will answer three questions based on each report. I will play the recording twice. Any new words here will be discussed and answers will be given. This will last 10 mins.
Vocabulary: Here I will give the student five verb collocations related to money. I will also give five definitions. The student will have to match the verb collocations with their correct definitions. This will last 5 mins.
Speaking: I will have a discussion with the student related to money and cash machines. I will ask 5 - 8 questions here and will test the student's knowledge regarding this particular topic and also pronunciation. This will last 10 mins.
Vocabulary: I will give the student 8 new words and 8 definitions. Here the student will have to correctly match them up. Once this is done, I will get the student to focus on the stressed syllables related to some of these words. Finally, I will give a gap-filled exercise using these new words. In total, this will last 15 mins.
Cooler: A very quick revision exercise will be given here. This will show me what the student has learned from the lesson. This will last 2-5 mins.
