🌿 About the Class
This is not just a lecture — this is a cultural journey.
In this class, we explore the rich heritage of Slavic countries: Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus — their traditions, customs, daily life, history, and soul.
Through conversation, stories, music, food, and visual art, you’ll experience the warmth, humor, and depth of a culture that’s both ancient and alive.
Classes are taught in English, but I can also support you in Korean, depending on your comfort level.
At the moment, I do not speak Japanese fluently, but if you’re a Japanese learner, we can communicate visually and simply — and learn together through images and dialogue.
⸻
🧭 What Topics Can We Explore?
 • 🎵 Traditional and modern music — folk instruments, Soviet songs, and post-Soviet pop
 • 🍲 Food & cooking — borscht, blini, pelmeni, kvas, and home-style traditions
 • 👩🌾 Family life & holidays — weddings, seasonal celebrations, and folklore
 • 🏙️ Architecture — from onion domes to brutalist Soviet blocks
 • 🖼️ Visual art — Aivazovsky, Kandinsky, Soviet posters, Orthodox icons
 • 🧵 Crafts & symbols — embroidery, nesting dolls, ornaments, and Slavic patterns
 • 💬 Daily life then & now — how people really live(d), from USSR times to modern life
 • 🎭 Humor, cinema & cultural quirks
 • And of course — your questions and interests always shape the direction!
👩🏫 About Your Teacher
Hi! I’m Anhelina — a passionate educator and culture lover from Belarus.
I have a degree in musicology, and worked professionally as a music teacher for 2 years.
Music is my field of study, but my heart also belongs to painting, architecture, and history.
Having grown up in a Slavic country and now living in Korea, I understand what it’s like to see culture through new eyes — and I love sharing that experience with others.
I speak Russian, Belarusian, English, and Korean, so I can support learners of many backgrounds.
My goal is not just to teach — but to connect, exchange, and grow together through conversation and shared wonder.
🧡 This class is for you if:
 • You’re curious about Eastern European or Slavic culture
 • You want to understand what’s behind the language
 • You’re learning Russian and want cultural context
 • You love history, art, food, and music
 • You’re looking for a relaxed, open, and enriching conversation
Let’s sip tea, share stories, and travel through culture
