"Au Café: Commander et Discuter" immerses students in a common French scenario, allowing you to hone both your conversational and listening skills. The lesson transports you to a typical French café, where you will practice ordering food, asking for recommendations, discussing preferences, and making small talk.
The agenda below serves as a simplified example for a class session and can be personalised to accommodate individual student goals and preferences.
Warm-Up (10 mins):
- Review: Food & drink vocabulary
- Introduce: Café phrases e.g., "Qu'est-ce que vous recommandez?"
- Activity: Café conversation dialogue read aloud
- Task: Identify orders, pinpoint questions, and capture extra details
- Discussion: Reflect on and discuss the content of the dialogue
- Activity: Pairs (Waiter & Customer roles)
- Task: Order, inquire about menu, small talk
- Note: Swap roles midway
- Discuss: Role-play challenges
- Feedback: Pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar corrections
