In this ESL lesson about body language, you will learn some phrases to describe gestures and movements and talk about body language in different situations.

Suitable for teens and adults. In this lesson, you will learn how people use their face and body to show feelings. You will look at pictures of people and say what they might be feeling. You will also learn useful words and phrases like nod your head and roll your eyes, and see if they mean the same in your culture.

You will read short conversations with a “body language detective” and choose the correct phrases. You can also practice the gestures yourself, so you remember them better.

You will talk about your own experiences with body language, look at pictures, match them with characters, and guess their feelings. You will also read two short stories about misunderstandings with body language and guess how they end.

At the end, you will discuss different situations in life and how body language helps in communication.

Homework/Revision
You will get extra practice with the new words and phrases after the lesson.
