課程介紹

This lesson will focus on history vocabulary. The student will learn over 20 new words associated with history. 

Warmer: Two quick exercises to get the student ready for the vocabulary topic of history. The first will test the student's knowledge of years and centuries. The student will will have to match the correct year to the correct century. It is a good pronunciation exercise as well. Then I will give the student important events and they will have to match up these events to the years from the first exercise. Nice introductory exercise to the lesson. This will last 5-8 mins. 

Quiz: I will the student give a history quiz once the warmer is finished. There are 7 questions which are multiple choice. Once the student has finished the quiz and we have gone through the answers, we will then focus on the key vocabulary in the questions. Very good exercise to test a student's knowledge of history vocabulary. This will last 5-10 mins.

Definitions: Using the words from the quiz, I will ask the student to match up the words to the definitions. Once this is completed, I will give the student a gap filled exercise and they would need to put these words in the correct places. Great way to test the student's knowledge. This part of the exercise will last 20 mins. 

Pctures: I will give the student 10 pictures and ten new words. The student will have to match the words to the pictures. Again some new vocabulary will be given here. This part will last 10 mins. 

Cooler: A good revision exercise before the end of the class. The student will be given 9 definitions about vocabulary they learned earlier and they will be asked to try and find the word. This exercise will show me what the student learned from the lesson. Also, I will address any doubts the student may have about the new vocabulary. 

Extra Exercise:I will give a reading extract and exercise for the student to do once the lesson is over. Here the student will be given more new words and they will have to answer questions based on the text. 

Learning Objective: 

The student will be able to give definitions for new vocabulary learned in the lesson. 

The student will be able to understand the meaning of the new vocabulary discussed in the lesson.
