Description
So you see in the previous lessons ,no amount of luxurious life could make the Prince happy.He always had questions which were unanswered and he sought to find answers to it by spending hours on his own in the premises of the palace.
Finally he decided to bid farewell to the Royal life at the midnight hours by quietly stealing away taking his charioteer and horse Kanthak with him.His son Rahul was fast asleep clinging to his mother Yashodhara and he just got a final glimpses of this sight saying," I will be back but in a new form ,once I seek knowledge to my answers and offer it you as a blessing".Prince Siddhartha was just 29 years then.
Shortly after leaving the kingdom Prince Siddhartha cut his waving hair and exchanged his royal dress for a simple one.The Prince asked his Charioteer to bear a message to King Shuddhodhan that Siddhartha had left the world of luxury,to find answers to question and find enlightenment.
Having entered the city of Rajgriha the Prince went from house to house silently waiting till the people offered him food.He was now livinf the life of ascetic.
