課程介紹
Are you curious about why people move, how societies change, what makes people feel that they belong, or how global issues affect everyday life? 🌍
In this lesson, we explore real-world topics through open, thoughtful, and engaging conversation. The focus is on understanding people, societies, migration, development, and the different experiences that shape our world.
I hold a Master’s degree in International Development Studies, with a specialization in Migration & Development. This gives me an academic foundation for many of the topics we may explore, but this lesson is not a formal lecture or an academic seminar. Instead, I want to create a space where interesting and sometimes complex issues feel approachable, relevant, and enjoyable to discuss.
You do not need any previous knowledge. You are welcome to bring your own experiences, questions, opinions, and curiosity.
What could we explore?
- Migration & Mobility: Why do people move? What shapes migration experiences?
- Culture & Identity: How do culture, language, and experiences shape who we are?
- Work & Inequality: Why do opportunities differ between people and places?
- Cities & Communities: How do migration and diversity influence the places where we live?
- Education & Opportunity: How can education shape people's futures?
- Climate & Migration: How can environmental change influence where and how people live?
- Borders & Belonging: What makes someone feel at home or part of a community?
- Global Development: Why do countries and communities develop differently?
These are only examples. If there is another real-world issue you are curious about, we can explore that too.
What might a lesson look like?
We may also use simple activities such as “What would you do?” scenarios, comparing two different situations, imagining an issue from another person's perspective, or discussing why the same situation may be experienced differently by different people.
I will help guide the conversation, provide useful background when needed, and introduce different perspectives without turning the lesson into a lecture.
There is no pressure to have the “right” answer.
