Explore the world, one story at a time.

Reading and listening are the foundations of true language mastery. In this lesson, we move beyond textbooks to explore authentic English content. Whether you are interested in classic literature, modern short stories, interesting articles, or engaging podcasts, this lesson is your bridge to becoming a more confident, fluent speaker.

What we will do in our 60-minute session:

  • Deep Reading & Analysis: We will read excerpts from literature or thought-provoking articles together. We’ll discuss themes, characters, and the author’s use of language to deepen your comprehension.

  • Listening for Nuance: We will listen to short clips from podcasts, interviews, or audiobooks. This helps you get used to different accents, speaking speeds, and natural intonation.

  • Vocabulary in Context: You won't just learn lists of words; you will learn how native speakers use language in context. We’ll look at idioms, metaphors, and stylistic choices that make English truly expressive.

  • Active Discussion: The best way to learn is to talk about what you’ve experienced. We will hold a "mini book club" style discussion to share your thoughts, sharpen your critical thinking, and practice articulating your ideas clearly.

My Approach: I believe that language is best learned through engagement. I will provide the materials, or if you have a book, article, or podcast episode you’ve been wanting to explore, bring it to class! We will treat it as a springboard for a deeper understanding of English.
