Can you understand English news? Do you have questions about something you've heard in American news? Feel free to talk to me about American politics, celebrities, or worldwide news!

In this conversational/reading lesson, we use current or recent events that interest us as a prompt to practice reading and understanding the English language and cultures! The student will choose a news story from their preferred source or I can pick a news story for you.
Please let me know what you choose as soon as possible before the lesson! If you do not, I will choose a written article.
Ideally, especially if the article is longer, I'd like you to try to read or view the news story before the lesson and prepare questions before we meet. However, we can read the article for the first time together! If you'd like to practice pronunciation, you can read the article to me and I can give you feedback and help you through tough areas.
If you would like to use a video source for our lesson, please prepare questions before the lesson. I will watch the video with you, answer your questions, and then we will discuss the meaning of the news story.
During the lesson, I will take some notes on vocabulary and pronunciation and send them to you after the lesson :)
