Lesson Description: Would you like to visit the U.K. some day? Would you like to understand British T.V. shows and movies?
In this lesson you will learn popular expressions and vocabulary that are used in British English. You will also learn if the expression is to be used in a casual or formal situation.
- The tutor will pronounce the British expression/vocabulary and then then you will repeat. The tutor will explain the meaning of the expression/vocabulary if you haven't heard it before. The tutor will give you an example sentence using this expression /vocabulary and then you will also make your own sentence using the new expression/vocabulary.
Example expressions/vocabulary: - Chuffed (to be very pleased about something) - Fortnight (a two week period) - Truth be told, I'm a little miffed (I am not very happy)
Lesson Aims: - To learn new British phrases and vocabulary - To practice making sentences using the new expressions & vocabulary
Skills: Speaking and listening. Please note: if you would prefer to speak a lot rather than learn new words please have a look at my other lessons such as: random questions attack or NEWS - What's your opinion. These involve more speaking.
Preparation: - Any questions you want to ask the tutor. During this lesson the tutor is happy to answer any questions about life in the U.K. Please let the tutor know when you book the lesson if you would like to ask questions so we can start the lesson with the questions.
Feedback: - During the lesson the tutor will type any mispronounced words, new vocabulary and expressions inside the skype chat box for you to study after the lesson. - During the lesson the tutor will suggest ways to rephrase your sentences to sound more natural. These suggestions will also be typed into the skype chat box. - Before the lesson finishes the tutor will give you verbal feedback on your pronuniciation. - If you would like detailed written feedback after the lesson please purchase the detailed lesson review.
Note: This lesson can be taken many times. If you would prefer a longer 50 minute lesson please book 2 time slots for example 9am and 930am.
