Let’s dive into the tragic world of Emily Dickinson and read one of her less well known, but more chilling poems, One Need Not Be A Chamber To Be Haunted.
Description
As we are in the hottest time of year let's come together and read the chilling poem of Emily Dickinson. Emily's poems are more about the scary internal things, rather than external ghosts, so for those who enjoy more reflective spooky stories, this is for you.
We will start the lesson diving into Emily Dickinson's life, and learning about why so many of her poems speak about death. Then I will read aloud her poem, One Need Not Be A Chamber To Be Haunted, and after we will take the time to either discuss, and/or go over vocabulary that the student might need some clarification on.
This is a great lesson to learn new vocabulary, learn about a historical classic poet, practice listening and conversational skills. I will also recommend a podcast full of horror stories for anyone who might like to dive into more spookiness.
The scary level of this lesson is very low, as this poem is more about our own minds than things like ghosts. This lesson is suitable for all level as I can cater to and break down the material for everyone. I hope you'll join me!
