First, thank you.
 

Whether we’ve had one lesson together or a few hundred, I genuinely appreciate the time you’ve spent learning, talking, laughing, occasionally wrestling with English grammar, and patiently answering my favorite follow-up question:
 

“Why?”
 

Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how I teach and what seems to help students make the most progress. I’ve also listened carefully to your feedback.
 

So, I’ve made a few changes to my Cafetalk lessons.
 

First, I’ve slightly lowered many of my lesson prices.
 

With the yen remaining weak and the cost of seemingly everything going up, I want regular English practice to be a little easier to maintain. I’ve seen again and again that students who practice consistently tend to make the greatest progress, and I don’t want price to unnecessarily get in the way of that consistency.
 

Second, I’ve rewritten and simplified my lesson descriptions.
 

The lessons themselves haven’t suddenly been replaced by robots, interpretive dance, or an exciting new 14-step methodology.
 

They’re still me.
 

But I’ve tried to make it much clearer what each lesson is for—Conversation, Customizable English, Exam Preparation, Business English, Study Abroad, Interview Coaching, Reading & Critical Thinking, and so on—so you can choose the lesson that best fits what you actually need.
 

My teaching has also continued to evolve. I’m doing less “teacher asks question → student answers → teacher asks next question” and more listening, following your ideas, asking better follow-up questions, and helping you discover clearer and more natural ways to express what you really want to say.
 

In other words, perhaps a little less English teacher with a clipboard…
 

…and a little more coach, conversation partner, and occasionally Socrates with Wi-Fi.
 

The new prices and descriptions take effect October 1.
 

Most importantly, thank you for continuing to trust me with your English.
 

After more than 4,500 Cafetalk lessons, I’m still learning how to become a better teacher—and you are a very large part of that education.
 

I hope these changes make it a little easier to study regularly, choose the right lesson, and keep moving forward.
 

And whether I saw you yesterday or haven’t seen you for a while, you’re always welcome back.
