About me
Hello, I’m Pontso.

My goal is clear: To simplify English for you to apply in different situations.

I teach learners of all backgrounds, tailoring lessons to their unique goals. Professionals come to me to sharpen their communication skills and succeed in the workplace. Exam candidates, whether preparing for IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, or other assessments, gain the strategies and confidence they need to perform at their best. Many students simply want to speak English more fluently in everyday life, and I help them build that confidence step by step. I also create engaging, interactive lessons for teenagers, ensuring they develop strong foundations in English while enjoying the learning process.

My focus goes beyond accuracy; I help learners achieve natural, confident communication. The ultimate goal is for you to hear yourself speaking and writing English clearly, smoothly, and authentically. For me, the most rewarding part of teaching is witnessing students unlock confidence in abilities they once doubted, transforming hesitation into genuine self-belief.

My philosophy of teaching is that learners are of different learning capabilities, and it is my duty as a teacher to help every one of them to reach their highest potential. I take interest in nurturing the minds of young people into becoming better leaders of tomorrow through teaching them English, both as a language and as a subject.

My Teaching Experience
I have more than 10 years of English practice and 4 years of formal teaching at a high school in my country, teaching English Language and Literature to Grades 8, 9, and 11. This is where I carefully studied and practised different types of productive methods to help students understand and enjoy the concepts I was teaching. 

I also have 1-year teaching experience at a British school in South Africa, teaching 3–4-year-olds. This helped me understand a child's academic development from a very young age. What I loved most about this was that it taught them phonics, pronunciation, recognition, and letter sounds. I also found it really interesting to teach young learners how to write. I really would love to pass my skills and knowledge over to you. 

Additionally, I have taught over 4500 lessons on an English language teaching platform, where I have helped people from different parts of the world to achieve their different goals regarding the English language. 

In my lessons I will be using a learner-centred approach. I will be focusing more on the activity of the learners during the lessons. This approach improves learner participation, improves retention of knowledge, fosters collaborative learning, develops problem-solving skills and boosts performance. This will ensure that my students answer questions, solve problems, discuss, formulate their own questions, explain, discuss, brainstorm or debate during lesson times. 

You are sure to get the ethical learning process through thoroughly planned virtual lessons. This includes setting the agenda for a lesson, ensuring that the students know beforehand what will be discussed in the sessions. It also covers the revision that needs to be done before the session, as well as assessments. 

Honesty is the best policy to ensure my students' academic honesty; the above-mentioned approach will come in handy. I will monitor and make sure that my students bring the ethics and discipline to the learning sessions. 

We will be discussing what the aims and goals of my students are, working on a given schedule and using different methods to achieve that. This is a great way of learning, especially for students who already know the areas they want to focus on. This is a great strategy because it directly addresses the needs of learners.
