Hello, everyone!
My name is Kenn. Come speak Japanese with me!
Self Introduction:
I live in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Surrounded by mountain ranges such as the Japanese Alps in all directions, the winters are cold, but in spring we are able to view the beautiful cherry blossoms at Takato Castle.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Physical Education from the Japan Physical Education University (日本体育大学), and have also studied International Business at Seattle Central College in the United States.
Teaching experience in Japan:
I actually worked as an English grammar tutor at a cram school in Yokohama for about a year when I was a university student. I taught a wide range of students, from pre-elementary school children to adults in their 40s, and helped them pass the Eiken examinations from Level 1 to Level 5. I often took walks around the red brick warehouses in Yokohama, and ate delicious xiaolongbao in Chinatown!
Teaching experience in the U.S.:
I was a volunteer instructor at an IT company for a Japanese language club made up of employees. In the Japanese club, I taught in a free-topic discussion format and using the “Genki” teaching materials. It was a wonderful and fulfilling experience, especially in the discussion style lessons, where I got to share Japanese culture with my studies!
My interests:
・I love science fiction, fantasy, mystery amongst other films! (such as Marvel, Game of Thrones, The office, etc.)
・I love to watch and play sports such as basketball and soccer. I also love outdoor activities. When I was in Washington, I used to hike a lot.
・I also enjoy traveling (I have been to Jamaica, etc.) and love animals!
My lessons:
・Improve your daily conversation skills through casual conversation in your lessons!
・I also specialize in using Japanese learning materials such as “Genki” in my lessons!
・I teach university students in Japan and students who are thinking of studying abroad in Japan.
・I teach a wide range of students from children to adults.
・I can also help students who are planning to study at a Japanese university with counseling and admission procedures. (I can also help those who are planning to study abroad in the U.S.)
My lessons are designed to improve your Japanese in a systematic manner, and to create a fun and enthusiastic environment in which to practice. During your lesson, I will listen to the your wants, assess the situation, and offer advice on how to improve your Japanese conversational skills.
In the process of improving daily conversation, I offer advice on correct pronunciation, grammar, and commonly used expressions, making my teaching style precise and easy to understand. In addition, I will creatively change my teaching style so that you can speak Japanese smoothly.
