Self-Introduction
 
Hi everyone! I'm Catherine, a Mandarin teacher from Taiwan. Let me share a bit about myself with all of you.
 
Firstly, a bit about me personally. I was born and raised in Taiwan, this beautiful island that I proudly call home. Taiwan's vibrant culture and rich Chinese heritage have always been the backdrop to my life. Besides Chinese, I'm also fluent in English, Japanese, and French. These four languages have been an integral part of my life, inspiring my passion for language learning.
 
Beyond my language skills, I have a unique experience that ignited my interest in teaching. During my freshman year of college, I had the opportunity to participate in a program where I served as a cultural mentor for American university students and teachers. This experience deeply reinforced the power of language as a tool that can transform lives. It also enhanced my understanding of cultural differences, motivating me to become an educator.

Teaching Background
 
Bachelor's Degree: English Literature
Throughout my undergraduate studies in English literature, I delved deep into the history, culture, and structure of the English language and its literature. This learning process not only solidified my knowledge of the English language but also kindled my passion for language learning. I learned to analyze literary works, understand the nuances of language expression, and develop the ability to teach language effectively.
 
Minor: Japanese, French
I not only possess proficiency in English but also a genuine love for and study of Japanese and French. Minoring in these languages allowed me to gain a profound understanding of different languages and cultures, making me a better teacher of these languages to my students. It also broadened my perspective, enabling me to approach language teaching from a multilingual standpoint.

During my master's program specializing in technology-assisted language teaching, I delved into how modern technology can enhance language instruction.
