I’m Lebogang Norah Rebecca Segoai, also known as Beckham

. I’m from South Africa. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration. I’m also TEFL/ TESOL certified. I have been a teacher for about 6 years now. I have taught kids and adults from diverse backgrounds including Thailand, China and Saudi Arabia. I also had an opportunity to teach English online for about 2 years.

 

I was very shy when I was a child but interacting with a lot of people and traveling the world made me realize that I'm actually missing out a lot for being an introvert .While I was traveling and teaching, I enjoyed eating street food in Thailand to seeing pandas in China. I made a lot of friends in all the countries I have been to and we chat daily. I enjoy talking about everything with my foreign friends, from culture to food etc.

As an English teacher, I’m lucky because through teaching I get to live my passion. I love working with people especially ones from different backgrounds. I love inspiring learning and I love the results. There is no better feeling than seeing one of my students finally acing on their studies.

I chose teaching English as a career because I love to make a difference in the world. Why must one learn English? Well speaking English allows one to actually broaden their world, from job opportunities to the ability to relate to people from all over the world. Education is very important but learning English also improves the quality of life.

Lessons for kids:  I am full of energy and my classes are so much fun. I have so many educational games that I use to incorporate my lessons. In my class no one is wrong and there is no stupid question as the main aim of the lesson is to learn.

My lesson plans: I never give up on my students as I'm very patient. As every student has their own talends and capabilities, I create a custom tailored lessons to meet each student's goals. I plan my lessons according to my students level of English as well.I use a lot of ESL materials including worksheets, written and verbal exercises. I also prefer to do role play with my students.
