Nicolas 講師のプロフィール
Bonjour et bienvenue !
My name is Nicolas, and I’m delighted to welcome you to my profile.
I'm French and I’ve been living in Tokyo for many years and have been teaching French to adults for over 25 years in Tokyo schools. Suffice it to say, I’m well aware of the little pitfalls and challenges the French language presents for Japanese learners! But I'm also a technical translator. In my view, these two fields complement each other and enrich one another. That’s why I’ve never given up on either of them.
As a techer, my approach is simple: to provide you with a relaxed, supportive, and 100% stress-free environment. Mistakes aren’t a problem—they’re actually the best way to learn. The important thing is to just get started!
What we can do together:
- Free conversation (just for the fun of chatting!)
- French for absolute beginners (at your own pace)
- Grammar and pronunciation correction
- Preparation for a trip to France
- Reading, translating, and discussing articles (my translator’s eye will help you grasp all the nuances!)
- Professional, scientific, or technical French
For me, a language isn’t just a list of grammar rules. It’s a window onto new ideas and different ways of seeing the world.
A little more about me... When I’m not teaching or translating, I’m often out on my bike! I ride thousands of kilometers every year in the Tokyo area (along the Tamagawa and Arakawa rivers, or toward Odaiba). I’m a curious person: with degrees in computer science and Japanese language, I’m just as passionate about new technologies as I am about literature, history, anthropology, ecology, and Japanese cuisine.
If you enjoy talking about travel, culture, science, Japan, or simply your daily life, we’ll never run out of things to discuss!
My students often tell me they feel at ease with me right away. So don’t hesitate—come try a trial lesson; I’d be delighted to guide you in your learning journey.
Just two more quick but important points:
Please note that recording the lesson is prohibited
Please note that I only offer lessons to adult students.

À bientôt !
