Reading the News - What is News Literacy?

Weekly Topic: How do you keep your schedule? Hand writing on your agenda or typing on smartphone/laptop?

Suja

Part of news literacy engages with critical thinking skills to judge news reports and decide whether or not to believe them.

This is also another reason why it is important to question ourselves about something we've just read.

Ask yourself these questions when you read the news:
  • Is it credible ? (Can I trust and believe what I read?)
  • What is my opinion on the information I just read ? (Form an opinion)
  • How much did I understand or not understand of what I read?
