Crazy And Funny Facts You Should Know

Aug 21, 2020

Dear, Readers.

I hope I find you well. Humidity is very high in southern Thailand at present, and the temperature is hovering around 30 degrees Celsius.

I am thrilled to bring you another sizzling installment of Crazy And Funny Facts You Should Know.

This time, it is geography.

There are two huge waterfalls on earth. One is between Canada and the USA, and the other is between Zambia and Zimbabwe(my home country).

These are the Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls, respectively.

But, I have a big surprise for you.

Did you know that;

No waterfall is larger or more powerful than those that lie beneath the ocean. They cascade over immense cataracts hidden from our view.

The world’s largest waterfall is underwater

The world’s largest waterfall lies beneath the Denmark Strait, which separates Iceland and Greenland. At the bottom of the strait are a series of cataracts that begin 2,000 feet under the strait’s surface and plunge to a depth of 10,000 feet at the southern tip of Greenland—nearly a two-mile drop.

The cold water from the Nordic Sea is denser than the Irminger Sea’s warm water, making it drop almost two miles down at 123 million cubic feet per second.

I am sure this will come as a surprise to most of those who never imagined the ocean having waterfalls.

I hope, in the future, it will be possible to go underwater and view these great natural wonders.

This concludes this installment. I hope you will enjoy reading it and sharing it with family and friends.

I am looking forward to the next time.

Have a weekend to remember!
