   この季節に、クリスマスカードや年賀状を出す方は多いのではないでしょうか。

　おそらく儀礼的に、メールなり年賀状なりで出す方が殆どと思われます。が、なかには今どうしているかしら、としばらく無沙汰していながら、思い出し懐かしんでそうした挨拶状を出す方もいらっしゃると思います。

　そんな思いから出てきたのが、この歌でした。3年前に詠いました。その後、年明けて2018年2月に秋田インターナショナル俳句ネットワーク(Tanka by Rika Inami7) に掲載して頂きました。写真は、秋田県仙北郡にある玉川ダム湖で撮りました。寒そうな風景ですが、あの日は確かに寒かったように思えます。今冬も、明日には寒波がやってくるというので、景色は一変して、3年前と同じように辺り一面が雪におおわれた雪景色になるかもしれませんね。

        Most of us probably send them by e-mail or New Year's cards as a matter of courtesy.  Some, I think, send such greeting cards out of nostalgia, wondering how they are doing after a long absence

　  I wrote this tanka three years ago, and then it was published in the Akita International Haiku Network in February 2018, Tanka by Rika Inami 7.  The photo was taken at Tamagawa Dam Lake in Senboku City, Akita Prefecture.  It looks like a cold landscape, but it was indeed cold that day. This winter, a cold wave will arrive tomorrow, so that the scenery may change entirely to a snowy landscape covered with snow, just like three years ago.
