Crazy And Funny Facts You Should Know

Dec 15, 2020

Dear, Readers.

I am thrilled to be here with yet another scintillating installment of Crazy And Funny Facts You Should Know.

I happened to come across an interesting piece of news and decided to promptly share it with you.

I am sure you are curious to find out.

I will cut to the chase here, readers. I’ll get right down into it.

Did you know that:

The Ig Nobel Prize is a satiric prize.

It has been awarded annually since 1991 to celebrate ten unusual or trivial achievements in scientific research.

Its stated aim is to "honor achievements that first make people laugh, and then make them think."

The name of the award is a pun on the Nobel Prize, which it parodies, and the word ignoble.

Now, here is the kicker.

The former mayor of Vilnius, Arturas Zoukas, won an Ig Nobel Prize for demonstrating that the problem of illegal parking could be solved by squashing the cars with an armored tank.

He tried this idea in Vilnius. It must have been a spectacle.

This was very interesting. But, the idea seems to have worked, at least in this city. Nobody wants their car under a battle tank.

I hope you will enjoy reading this little fun fact.

I will be back with more. Have a great week.

See you soon.
