Weekly Topic: What was your most memorable film?

Have you seen Out of Africa?  It has to be one of my favourite films of all time.  It stars Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.  It is a romantic drama set in East Africa in the 1930s.   The movie is based on a novel by Karen Blixen.  She is a Danish baroness who moves to Kenya, runs a coffee plantation, and falls in love with an American game hunter.  She reflects upon her adventures, experiences, and insights along the way.  It won seven Academy Awards including Best Picture in 1985 and Best Director.  Whenever I watch it, I am drawn into the complicated romance beween the characters, the picturesque scenery, the elegant costume designs, and the wild animals on the plains.  I recommend it to anyone who enjoys dramatic, romantic and international films.  What are some of your favourite movies?  What movie genres do you like?

I offer a Let's Talk: Movie Discussion lesson.  It is 45 minutes long.  I will send movie vocabulary, idioms, and questions before the lesson.  For the month of December, you can use this 20% off coupon.  code:  4a0b9be5

I look forward to talking about movies with you soon!
