Input and Output

2021年2月27日

Today I want to talk about “input” and “output”.

What is a good studying method? It is important to have both “input” and “output”.

Studying from a textbook, reading fiction and non-fiction books, internet news and articles is input.  Listening to podcasts, radio and watching English TV and movies is also input.

“Output” is putting what you learn into practice.  Writing and speaking in English is output.  You can start by writing a short daily journal if you are a beginner.  If you are more advanced, try translating an article or even a recipe from your native language to English.

It is important you enjoy studying English.

Some people, when they learn a new language, are shy to practice speaking, worrying about making mistakes.

It is okay to make mistakes.  If your goal is to improve in conversation, talking is the only way to improve.  So, if you are hesitating, I hope you can step out of your comfort zone and start talking in English. See you soon on Cafetalk.
