幼い頃、雑木林や田んぼで動物や草木に触れることが日常でした。そして動物や草木と話ができると思っていました。それで将来はそういう能力を持った魔法使いになるのだと思っていました。
現在の私が『自然から学ぶことが多いと思うこと』と『ハリーポッターシリーズが好きなこと』はこの時期の経験が大いに影響しているのではと思います。
(When I was a small child, I usually spent the time in the woods and rice fields, and I believed I could communicate with animals and plants in those days. Therefore, I was sure I would become a witch with a sort of ability in my adulthood.

小学校から中学校までは俳優になりたいと思っていて、実際部活動で演劇部に入っていました。大人になるにつれ俳優になりたいという気持ちはなくなりましたが、自分とは違う性格の役をやった経験は、その後の私の人の個性についての理解につながっていると思います。
(During my primary and middle school days, I had been thinking about becoming an actress, and I had been in the drama clubs of the schools, though the more I grew up, the less I was interested in it. However, I had the experiences that I played the roles whose characters were totally different from mine, and I think they brought me my personal way of thinking of people's personalities.)
子どもの頃の夢や、やりたかったことは、今の自分の一部と繋がっているのだとこれを書きながら改めて思いました。
(While writing this column, I realised my past dream and things I liked to do would connect to a part of me.)
