きょうは 寒い（さむい）です。
It’s cold today.
日本（にっぽん）の 冬（ふゆ）は 寒いです。
It’s cold in winter in Japan.
あなたの ところは どうですか？
Is it cold in your place?
●今日（きょう）は 昨日（きのう）ほど 寒くないです。
It is not as cold today as it was yesterday.
「AはBほど〜ない」と いうとき、「×AはBくらい〜ない」は いいません。
ですから、×「今日は昨日くらい寒くないです。」とは いいません。
You cannot use, “kurai” in “not as as” sentense.
でも、「くらい」と「ほど」の どちらでも つかえるときが あります。
The below shows the example when you can use either “kurai” or “hodo”.
たとえば、
●800人（にん）くらいの 人（ひと）が コンサートに きました。
800人（にん）ほどの 人（ひと）が コンサートに きました。
About 800 people came to the concert.
数（かず）を 表す（あらわす）名詞（めいし）に 付いて（ついて）
およその数を いうときは、両方（りょうほう）使えます（つかえます）。
When expressing approximate numbers, “hodo” or “kurai” can be used.
(“number+noun+hodo/kurai”)
「ほど」と「くらい」は ときどき むずかしいですね。
“hodo” and “kurai” are sometimes confusing.
