English Grammar Tenses-Present
Simple Present

Describing a state in the present

V+(s)

Japanese: V Dictionary/Plain Form (ex: 食べる)

Chinese: zài (在) or zhèngzài (正在)

Korean:  V stem+"아요","어요, "-해요"

I live in New York

I know you

He always gets up early


Present Continuous

-ing

Describes something someone is doing right now, in the present

They are continuing to do so

Japanese: teiru、V stemーている

Chinese: 在 (zài), 正在 (zhèngzài) : Subject + 在/正在 + Verb + Object. 

Korean:V stem-고 있어요


She's writing a blog

I am listening to this song

I am driving 


Present Perfect

Japanese: past tense (~ました/~た) and the ~たことがある

Chinese: 过 (????ò) and 了 (l??)

Korean:  -어/아 있다 structure for state, and the -아/어 오다

He has just left

Have you ever been here before?

I haven't completed it yet. (so you are in the process of doing so--->present tense)


Present Perfect Continuous

Japanese: ている

Chinese: 一直 (yīzhi) (正)在 ((zhèng) zài)

Korean: "아/어 왔어요" (something has happened up to the present)

 "10년 동안 공부해 왔어요" (for 10 years, I have been studying). 

I have been living her for 3 years.

She has been watching The Office.

I have been studying Korean.
