4 Travel Spots for Wine Lovers

Wine tourism around the world is growing year after year, including these four top places to visit for wine and wonderful travel experiences.

Mosel Valley, Germany

Mosel Valley is a lovely place to visit, filled with hills, rivers and castles. But the area is best known for its Riesling. Be careful if planning a walk around Calmont Klettersteig – as the home of the steepest vineyards in Europe, it could be dangerous after drinking.

Napa Valley, USA

While America's first known wine was made in Florida in 1562, California now makes almost 90% of the country's wine. Many wineries in Napa Valley even have bike tours, where you can go from winery to winery on a bicycle.

Barossa Valley, Australia

Barossa Valley vineyards have some of the oldest vines in the world. And there's even a winery called Penfolds that will let you make and take home your own wine by mixing wines from three different grapes.

Saint-Émilion, France

Few areas around the world are as famous for wine as Bordeaux, in southern France. Wine tourists often go to Les Cordeliers, a winery built among 14th-century ruins in the UNESCO World Heritage area of Saint-Émilion. This company is known for making special sparkling wines since opening in 1892.
