Phrasal verbs are super common in conversational English, but can be very confusing for English learners. Let's learn about them.

Description

You studied English in school. But have you ever had the experience of being in a casual situation, like a dinner, and suddenly you were not understanding casual conversation? That might be partly because of phrasal verbs.

Phrasal verbs are made of common words - like get, put, take, up, down, off - but when you join them together, the meaning changes completely

Example: "Give up" = stop trying

But "give" means offer, and "up" means higher... so "give up" doesn't make sense literally.

Our first lesson will begin with: Put up with | Give up | Take off | Look after | Turn down

Going forward, I will choose 5 new phrasal verbs if you choose this lesson again.

Let's learn how real people talk!
