  • Planning a budget for the vacation
  • Selecting activities to do during the vacation
  • Creating a checklist of essential items for the vacation

  • Provide students with a template to plan their own vacation, including budgeting, activities, and a checklist.
  • Scaffold questioning by starting with simple questions about budgeting and gradually progressing to more complex questions about activities and preparations.
  • Monitor student performance by circulating the room and providing guidance as needed.

Independent Practice:

  • In groups, students will work together to create a detailed vacation plan including budget, activities, and a checklist.
  • Each group will present their plan to the class, highlighting key elements and explaining their choices.

Closing:

  • Have each group share one aspect of their vacation plan with the class to summarize the key points discussed during the lesson.

Extension Activity:

  • For early finishers, provide them with a scenario where they have to adjust their vacation plans due to unexpected circumstances such as weather changes or budget constraints.

Homework:

  • For homework, students will create a vision board or collage of their dream vacation, including images of the destination, activities, and items they would pack.

Standards Addressed:
