レッスンの詳細
This lesson is aimed learning the basic alphabet sounds using a popular technique, "Jolly Phonics". Using this technique children learn each letter by its sound, not its name. For instance, the letter a should be called a (as in ant) not ai (as in aim). Similarly, the letter n should be nn (as in net), not en. This will help in blending sounds together as the child progresses. The names of each letter can follow later .
The letters are not introduced in alphabetical order. The first group (s,a,t,i,p,n) has been chosen because they make more simple three-letter words than any other six letters. The letters b and d are introduced in different groups to avoid confusion.
This lesson will concentrate on Jolly Phonics Phase 2. Each sound has an action which helps children remember the letter that represent it. As a child progresses you can point to the letters and see how quickly they can do the action and say the sound. As well as this, the basic alphabet sounds and actions are learnt alongside the Jolly Phonics Song (which can be found on youtube.com). This purpose made song addresses each sound with a unique tune, and vocabulary that has the relevant initial sound. For example “bring my bat and bring my ball, b,b,”
This technique utilizes associating a unique tune with not only making the correct letter sound orally, but also using the correct associated physical action for that sound and learning relevant initial sound vocab that use the sound in question (e.g. bat and ball), this sort of layered association reinforces the child’s learning and really accelerates the child’s ability to read.
Sounds that have more than one way of being written are initially taught in one form only. For example, the sound ai (train) is taught first, and then the alternative ae (gate) and ay (day) follow later.
