I lived in South Korea between 2013-2015 and had an absolutely amazing time there!
  • During the first year I lived in Gwangju (by Jeollanamdo University) and taught English in Damyang at a public elementary school. I also was a substitute teacher at a private academy and tutored a Samsung businessman during my freetime. Additionally, I volunteered at the Gwangju International Center on the Marketing Team. 
  • In my second year, I moved to Busan. Initially, I didn't have a teaching job, so I worked as a housekeeper in a guesthouse in Nampo-dong. Finally after securing a new teaching contract, I moved to Sajik and taught English in a private academy for elementary and middle school students.
During my time in Korea, I tried as many new things as I possibly could including, but not limited to:
  • Places: Norebangs, Jjimjilbangs, PCbangs, Arcade rooms
  • Food: I ate anything and everything (except sundae and hung-oh). The spicier, the better!
  • Cities: Damyang, Gwangju, Jeonju, Jinju, Mokpo, Jindo, Busan, Pohang, Daegu, Hwacheon, Incheon, Seoul, Paju, Jeju-do. 
  • Sports: Volleyball, Baseball, Scuba Diving
  • Nightlife: Hongdae, Seomyeon, soju, beer, somak & chimaek
