In this lesson we will have a brief introduction about ourselves, followed by an in-depth overview of your business/company/organization and your marketing goals.
I will learn more about your industry including who your competitors are, who your target audience is, and learn about any past marketing attempts you have made or considered.
Then, we will take a look at your website and conduct a technical audit. Here we will look at things the search engines (ie Google spiders) look at, for example, page load speed, robot.txt, and how your title tags, headings, and other elements on your page are organized. This is extremely important because we want to make it as easy as possible for Google and other search engines to understand the purpose of your website and how to categorize it so that it can start getting ranked for different searches.
While using tools available online, we will analyze your and competitors' websites to see what keywords are ranking and what kind of searches are driving traffic.
After this, we will discuss different strategies of how to organize your website, create new keyword-rich content, and whether you want to take a PUSH or PULL approach, (meaning whether you want to PUSH your products to target audiences or PULL qualified audiences to your website or products). The goal is to show Google that YOU are the expert in your field (and that you should start appearing in areas of the internet that make sense to your potential customers).
Throughout the lesson, I will also introduce other strategies of digital marketing, specifically pay-per-click ads and discuss when it might be appropriate to spend extra money on these forms of advertising.
