Analyse and understand poems
Description
This lesson is an introduction to how to approach poetry, do close readings of poems and interpret and analyse poems. It covers the tools poets may use in there poetry to convey a message to their readers. For this lesson you need to have proficient understanding of the English Language, but it is a great lesson for all students who want to enhance their analytical and close-reading skills. Poetry is also a gateway to broaden your critical thinking skills. The lesson would consist of a presentation, but also class participation and conversations about the topic. Students' own opinions will be valued and encouraged.
