Presentation
Vocabulary
Practice
Every Friday night...
At exactly 11:57 PM...
An old train arrives at Platform 7.
Nobody knows where it comes from.
Nobody knows where it goes.
It always stops for exactly one minute.
Nobody gets on.
Nobody gets off.
The station workers pretend not to notice it.
Discuss:
What do you think?
Would you investigate?
Would you tell someone?
Scene TwoOne Friday...
A little girl appears.
She walks slowly toward the platform.
She doesn't seem frightened.
She smiles.
When the train stops...
She waves happily.
Not at the train.
Not at the driver.
At someone standing inside.
But everyone else sees...
An empty train.
Discussion
Who is she waving to?
Could everyone else be wrong?
Would you approach her?
Scene Three
The station manager asks,
"Who are you waving at?"
She answers quietly,
"My brother."
Everyone is confused.
The manager checks the records.
Her brother disappeared...
Twenty years earlier.
He was eight years old.
He vanished after boarding a train.
His body was never found.
Students react.
Could this be true?
Could she be imagining things?
What do you think happened?
Scene Four
The following Friday...
Several people decide to watch.
The train arrives.
Again...
Empty.
The girl waves.
This time...
One passenger notices something.
A small hand...
Pressed against one of the windows.
Just for a second.
Then...
Gone.
Discussion
Would you keep watching?
Would you board the train?
Would you leave?
Scene Five
The police investigate.
Security cameras record...
Nothing.
No train.
Only the little girl standing alone...
Waving into empty space.
Yet...
Everyone standing on the platform remembers hearing the train.
The whistle.
The brakes.
The doors opening.
Discussion
Which do you believe—
The cameras?
Or the witnesses?
Final Scene
One week later...
The little girl never returns.
No one ever sees her again.
The station closes Platform 7 permanently.
Today...
Local people still avoid it after midnight.
Sometimes...
Late on Friday nights...
Passengers waiting on nearby platforms say they hear...
A train arriving...
Where no tracks exist anymore.
