Food is not only about taste. It is about colours, aromas, memories and stories — all the things that help language come alive.
Have you ever tasted delicious Greek dishes at a taverna and wondered how they are made?
In this lesson, you are invited into a Greek family kitchen to explore recipes, ingredients and food traditions from Greece.
Together we can read authentic Greek recipes, learn useful kitchen vocabulary and discover the stories behind some of Greece's most beloved dishes.
Before you know it, you may be cooking them in your own home — or confidently ordering them the next time you visit Greece.
If you enjoy cooking, we can even cook together live during the lesson. You may prepare a simple recipe in advance, cook alongside me, or simply bring your curiosity and appetite for Greek culture.
And if cooking is not your thing, we can always browse through the endless Greek "Tselementes" — the famous traditional collection of recipes found in many Greek homes.
In Greece, we also have a saying:
"The way to the heart is through the stomach."
Food is much more than nourishment. It is hospitality, family, tradition, storytelling and connection.
Food is one of the most beautiful ways to learn a language because we remember things more easily when we connect them with smell, taste and emotion.
You are also welcome to introduce recipes from your own country, because cultural exchange is one of the key ingredients in every lesson I teach.
