Description
Knowing the basics of English business writing is the perfect stepping-stone to learning how to refine your messages, becoming familiar with real-world scenarios, and writing for specific scenarios or situations. At this stage, Level II, we'll need to put even more focus on audiences; after all, we’re writing for them.
What you will learn
Following an initial assessment of your skills and knowledge, we'll dig deeper into each major document form: example, email messages (trickier than you might imagine), or what goes into a business letter, top-to-bottom. We'll also cover the major types of business communication you'll need to know. For instance, writing a bad news message is very different from simply answering a request. Homework will be designed to challenge you, and we'll review it together. We'll even talk about nuance - actual words you use - and why, if it appears in our correspondence, it's so important to some people in the North American market.
I'm currently developing a Lesson Pack for this. Should you decide on the Lesson Pack, you'll learn more consistently, on a more regular basis, and you will save some money!
My Experience
I was born in Canada, and in addition to formal university-level education in communications, and broadcasting training, I have taught business writing and business communication at the college level. In addition, while teaching part-time at college, I spent 20 years working in various administrative and communications positions in Corporate Canada.
I’m ready to begin; are you?
