Whether you’re presenting research, defending a thesis, pitching to investors, or collaborating across cultures, you’ll learn how to make complex ideas accessible without losing precision.

Reflect with an Anthropologist:  Connecting Your Work to the Bigger Picture
Explore your ideas, projects, or experiences in conversation with a Doctor of Anthropology. Together, we’ll uncover your field’s broader cultural, social, and global relevance. These relaxed but focused discussions sharpen your thinking, improve your English communication skills, and help you connect your work to the real world.

  • Describe your work to a non-STEM specialist — and see what makes sense, what needs clarity, and what sparks curiosity

  • Identify the core message of your project, research, or career that matters to people outside your field

  • Explore the bigger picture — how your work fits into global networks, systems, and social realities

  • Connect your expertise to impact — from everyday life on Earth to humanity’s understanding of the wider universe

  • Learn to adapt your explanation for different audiences, from policymakers to the general public

  • Get feedback from a Doctor of Anthropology,  a cultural specialist who will challenge you to think beyond the lab or office and into the world

I hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology, an M.A. from Yale University, and have trained nearly 100 researchers in the field. I’ve advised high school, university, and graduate students, as well as guided professionals in understanding human behavior, systems, and strategy.

  • B.A. in Anthropology – University of Connecticut

  • Director, Isla Mujeres Ethnographic Field School – Training nearly 100 researchers in ethnographic and qualitative research methods.

  • 25+ years’ experience teaching and mentoring at high school, university, and professional levels.

  • Research expertise in medical anthropology, qualitative methods, social theory, and cross-cultural communication.

  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes; invited speaker at universities and professional conferences worldwide.
