Learn STEM with Gene!

Hi, and welcome to my STEM class!

This is a 70-minute personalized lesson for students who want to learn science and mathematics in a clear, supportive, and structured way. Whether you need help with schoolwork, want to review difficult topics, prepare for exams, or explore something you are curious about, we can shape the class around your goals.

Please note that the first session will be used for assessment and orientation. During this class, we will discuss your current level, learning goals, school curriculum or exam needs, strengths, difficulties, and preferred learning style. From there, I will suggest a lesson plan and approach that fits you best.

I can teach and support you in the following areas:

• Mathematics: basic math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and Calculus I
• Chemistry: high school chemistry, general chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biological chemistry
• Physics: high school physics, including mechanics, waves, electricity, magnetism, and basic problem-solving
• Biology: general biology, human biology, and selected medical or health-related topics
• Study support: homework help, exam preparation, concept review, problem-solving practice, and science communication
• Curiosity-based learning: lessons on topics you simply want to understand better, from everyday science to advanced concepts

My teaching style focuses on understanding, not memorization alone. I use scaffolding, which means we build your knowledge step by step. We can begin with simple explanations and guided examples, then gradually move toward independent problem-solving and deeper reasoning. I also like connecting concepts to real-world examples, especially in science, so that the topics feel more meaningful and easier to remember.

I graduated from the University of Tokyo with a background in chemistry, and I have taught students across the world. My experience has helped me work with learners from different educational systems, levels, and learning styles.
