Description

Welcome
Welcome the students to the online classroom
Make the greeting personalized and basic
E.g: "Hello, my name is Teacher Tyler, what is your name?"
       "How old are you?"
       "Are you ready?"

Introduction: "Today we are going to learn about English! Our focus is on Farm Animals and the different types of animals!

Okay, ready!
Make the children comfortable by singing hello song.

Start class by introducing three different animals (Horse, Cow, Sheep, Chicken)
Get the children to pronounce the words while showing them images of each of the animals. While doing so I will also introduce them to the colors of each of the Animals. E.g: "Horse, brown Horse." "Cow, black and white Cow" "Sheep, white Sheep" and "Chicken, yellow Chicken".

Advance to second section where I have images of both "Big and Small" sizes of each of the Animals. E.g: "Big Horse", "Small Horse", "Big Cow", "Small Cow", "Big Sheep", "Small Sheep", "Big Chicken", "Small Chicken". I will then introduce the sounds that the animals make. E.g,  "Horse, neigh", "Cow, moo", "Sheep, baa", "Chicken, cluck-cluck" . E.g: "Can you say 'neigh' like the Horse?", "Can you say 'moo' like the Cow?", "Can you say 'baa' like the Sheep?" and "Can you say 'cluck-cluck' like the Chicken?" I will reinforce this by showing them how I would make the sounds and act like those animals.

Advance to third section where I hold up the images of the various animals and ask the students "What is this?" I would give them an example by answering one of the questions for them. E.g: "It's a Horse" or just "Horse" and would do so with all of the animals taught and congratulate them accordingly.

I would then proceed to ask the students which animals they like. E.g: "Do you like the Horse?", "Do you like the Cow?", "Do you like the Sheep?" and "Do you like the Chicken?" By doing so I would have a picture of a heart or a thumbs up explaining what "like" would mean. And if the students reply with "No" I would explain by using TPR what "I don't like" means. E.g, "No, I don't like the Horse", "No, I don't like the Cow", "No I don't like the Sheep" or "No I don't like the Chicken"

Advance to end of class. Thank the students for having the class with me and then sing the "Goodbye song"

The lesson would preferably be done via Video chat. I like to use props, facial expressions, (TPR) - Total Physical Response and images to help my class to be more engaging and fun for the students.
