Students will see how western philosophy started and developed through engagement with passages from key thinkers in the western canon.
Students will engage with passages from the following thinkers and their respective texts:

- Plato - The Republic
- Descartes - Meditations on First Philosophy
- Hume - An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding
We will read through key passages of these texts so as to highlight what the arguments and ideas of these thinks were and relate them back to the aims and development of western philosophy.
