Lesson Description:

Based on my new column “From Fixed Frameworks to Fluid Lessons: The Joy of Tailoring English Online”, this discussion lesson invites students to:

  • Talk about their experiences with online language learning.
  • Explore what makes lessons flexible, practical, and enjoyable.
  • Discuss how lessons can fit the student, feel alive, and allow for experimentation.
  • Practice using key expressions from the column, such as tailor lessons, tackle mistakes, stretch vocabulary, and add a little twist.

Discussion Prompts:

  • What do you enjoy most about your online lessons?
  • Are there parts of lessons that feel too rigid? How could they be improved?
  • Can you describe a lesson that really fits you?
  • What would you like teachers to tailor or add a little twist to in your lessons?
  • Do you prefer lessons guided by curiosity or structured plans? Why?
